Cayman police launch hunt for Jamaican man

December 30, 2016

The Cayman police are seeking a Jamaican man who they say is believed to be in the country illegally.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIP) posted the information on their Facebook page advising the public to be on the lookout for 34-year-old Norval Maconia Barrett.

The police are requesting the public's assistance in their search for Barrett, who, according to investigators, is originally from Jamaica.

The RCIP has advised the public to exercise caution as Barrett could be potentially dangerous, and that the police should be notified immediately.

A photo bearing his image has also been made public by the RCIP.

Our news team gathered that in 2010, Barrett was convicted of robbing a gas station with an imitation firearm.

He was also acquitted in another robbery case.
