MP saddened by murder in August Town
Member of Parliament for eastern St Andrew, Fayval Williams, has expressed sadness at the fatal shooting of a man in the August Town community yesterday evening.
Last week, Williams, along with others, celebrated one year without a murder being recorded in the community for the first time in its history.
"I am very sad. I haven't had the benefits of all the details of it yet, but it makes me feel extremely sad," Williams told THE STAR.
"At the same time though, the efforts to maintain a crime-free community will continue. I am sure as the details of this one become known, it will be clear what intervention will be needed in August Town."
The police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed late yesterday that a man was shot and killed in August Town around 6 p.m. yesterday.
At press time, the police were yet to identify the man.
