Two killed outside bar in Hayes
Investigators in Clarendon have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the double fatal killing and injury to two others on Sunday night at Three Sisters Sports Bar in Hayes in the parish.
The deceased have since been identified as 33-year-old Clovis Cooke of a Moneymusk Housing Scheme address, and 39-year-old Otis Gordon of a Lionel Town address.
THE STAR understands that a female operator of the establishment and another man were also shot and injured during the incident that occurred at about 10:45 p.m.
They are being treated at hospital, and are said to be in stable condition.
Reports are that a police patrol team visited the operators and told them to close the bar shortly before the incident occurred.
The police in sections of the parish have requested that bar operators shut down at a certain time to avoid instances of this nature, as there have been numerous reports of shootings at bars where there are certain gatherings.
Sunday's deadly shooting occurred after the operators complied with the police to close the bar.
THE STAR learnt that while Cooke and Gordon, along with the bartender and the other man, boarded their vehicle to leave the area, unknown assailants drove up in another car and opened fire at them.
They were rushed to hospital where Cooke and Gordon were pronounced dead.
The Hayes police are investigating this latest incident.
