Following the death of three people who were involved in an early morning traffic accident along the Temple Hall main road, motorists are calling on the authorities to declare the stretch of road as a crash hotspot.

A head-on collision with a Toyota Coaster public passenger bus and a Mitsubishi Lancer motor car yesterday claimed the lives of all three occupants of the motor car.

Dead are 25-year-old Taren Campbell-Bowden, the driver Kemar Dacres, and an unidentified passenger.

Both Campbell-Bowden and the other man died at the spot, while Dacres succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

Two students, who were flung from the bus, were also rushed to hospital where they were treated for injuries.

The accident occurred shortly after 6 a.m.

When THE STAR arrived at the scene at 8 a.m., a large crowd had converged and the traffic piled up, as the accident scene investigators and a fire crew from the Stony Hill Fire Station were attending to the incident.

Family members of the deceased persons had to be consoled at the scene of the accident as they wept openly.
