Airy Castle, St Thomas resident Iris says she keeps an eye out whenever she journeys to her farm, following the abduction of two girls from Bath in the parish last month.

The 46-year-old said she and other residents are still on the lookout for the suspected abductor, Davian Bryan, who has managed to elude the police and residents.

"Mi nah make nuh bwoy make mi walk and cold up, so my machete sharpen two side; because any little funny move and mi nah back. My bush deh way up inna di hills, suh mi have to leave out at 5 o'clock sometimes. Mi nah say mi ago see a little man who mi don't know and chop him up but right ya now all inna my brassiere mi have a little weapon. Mi feel like di bwoy still deh St Thomas. But if him tink him a go get away or take whe a next little girl, him make a sad mistake," she said.

The girls Bryan is accused of abducting were reunited with their loved ones, following an intense search by residents and the police. Days after the children were found, Levi Chambers was chased and killed in a case of mistaken identity by an angry mob in Llandewey.

Iris stated that while the residents are not conducting daily searches for Bryan, they will not rest well until he is handed over to the police.

"Everybody eyes open, especially if dem see a strange face. We nah go just get up and kill somebody if dem look strange, but if dem a move a way we a go find out dem a who," she said. Superintendent of Police Allison Byfield, head of the St Thomas Police Division, said the search continues for Bryan, who she believes is still lurking in the parish.

"The last sighting of him was last week Wednesday, but there have not been any sightings of him since," she said.

She stated that the police are encouraging and reminding parents and guardians to be extremely protective of their children especially since Bryan remains at large.

"The CPSFA (Child Protection and Family Services Agency) has been having sensitisation sessions with families, parents, with regard to protecting their children. We are continually reminding these persons that Bryan is still at large, and we do not know if and when he will strike again. Not withstanding, the police are still there as a support, and we are hunting him and providing coverage in the area as it relates to safety and security of the children, especially girls," she said.

A reward of $200,000 is being offered through Crime Stop Jamaica to anyone who can offer information that will lead to the arrest of Bryan. Persons with information are being asked to contact Crime Stop at 311. Persons can also contact the Morant Bay police at 876-982-1027, the police 119 number, or the nearest police station
