Another senior cop’s home searched in widening C-TOC cocaine probe

The home of another high-ranking police officer is now under the microscope as MOCA agents carry out a search linked to the widening investigation into cocaine discovered at the now-disbanded Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Division.

The St Andrew search, which began early Thursday morning, marks the second day in a row that investigators have targeted the home of a senior police officer formerly assigned to C-TOC.

Sources say both operations are connected to the probe into two parcels of cocaine uncovered inside a storage facility at the former police division.

The drugs were discovered during an audit in January, setting off an investigation that has reportedly widened significantly.

Nearly a dozen senior police and Jamaica Defence Force officers are now said to be targets of the investigation, according to law enforcement sources cited by The STAR.

MOCA confirmed on Wednesday that its agents were conducting a series of operations to execute search and seizure warrants at several locations across Kingston and St Andrew as part of an ongoing investigation.

However, MOCA's director of communications, Major Basil Jarrett, declined to provide further details about the investigation or the operations.

The latest search signals that the investigation into the cocaine discovery is continuing to widen, with another former C-TOC officer now facing scrutiny.
