'Dudus' to spend another year behind bars
Convicted Jamaican drug kingpin Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke will spend another year behind bars, with his projected prison release date pushed back from January 2028 to January 2029.
Coke, who was previously scheduled to be released on January 29, 2028, is now listed for release on January 28, 2029, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ website.
The reason for the change is unclear.
The West Kingston strongman is being held at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey, where he was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with convicted music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs last Friday.
Coke’s release date had been listed as January 29, 2028, when Nationwide News checked the federal prison agency’s website in July.
He was sentenced to 23 years in prison in 2012 for his role in a drug conspiracy. Under the revised release date, he will have served approximately 17 years of his sentence.
Coke returned to the headlines on Wednesday after entertainment news outlet TMZ reported that he confronted Combs over prison-wide searches that followed reports about the music mogul’s living conditions behind bars.
NBC News had reported that Combs was living in luxury at Fort Dix. The report prompted prison authorities to conduct multiple sweeps of the facilities, reportedly confiscating contraband, including cellular phones, from inmates.
According to TMZ, Coke confronted Combs about the searches, and the confrontation allegedly turned physical, leaving Combs hospitalised.
It remains unclear whether the reported altercation has any connection to the change in Coke’s projected release date.
