Two show up for St Bess volleyball competition

Only hosts Santa Cruz Primary & Junior High and Quick Step Primary schools turned up for the first leg of the St Elizabeth/Jamaica Volleyball Association (JaVA)/Phillip Greenland Developmental Volleyball Championship on Monday in Santa Cruz.

The teams played their two league matches on the day. The first match went to Quick Step, who outscored Santa Cruz 30-25, while in the second, Santa Cruz turned the table with a 35-21 victory.

The other two confirmed teams, defending champions Geneva Primary and Middle Quarters All-Age will contest the second leg on Wednesday, November 18 at Santa Cruz P & JH.

The top two teams from the parish qualify automatically to the national finals on Friday, November 27.
