Woman chased and stabbed to death by ex-lover after complaining to his mom

What should have been a quiet return home from a community wake turned into a nightmare for 39-year-old security guard Patricia Dennis, who was allegedly chased and stabbed to death by her former lover in Old Harbour, St Catherine, early Saturday morning.

Dennis, of Hawk Lane, Bullett Tree District, Red Ground, Old Harbour, reportedly found herself in a deadly confrontation with the 35-year-old man after he allegedly went to her home and attempted to enter.

The two, who had previously been in a relationship reportedly marked by frequent arguments and clashes, allegedly got into a dispute.

Dennis reportedly left her house and went to the nearby home of the man's mother to complain.

But police allege that the man followed her and attacked her with a knife.

Dennis was reportedly stabbed several times, including wounds to her neck, abdomen and upper body.

She collapsed and bled heavily.

A relative rushed her to Spanish Town General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect reportedly fled into nearby bushes after allegedly brandishing a firearm.

He remains on the run, and the Old Harbour police are hunting for him in connection with Dennis' killing.
