21-y-o gunned down near his home

A quiet evening on a Portmore pathway turned deadly on Sunday night when a 21-year-old sales representative was gunned down while sitting near his home.

Dead is Kevan Peters, otherwise called ‘Echo’, of Balladier Way, Waterford, Portmore, St Catherine.

Police reports are that shortly after 8:10 p.m., Peters was sitting on the pathway where he lived when a gunman approached him.

The attacker reportedly opened fire, hitting Peters in the upper body before fleeing the area.

The police were summoned and, on arrival, found Peters suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to the Spanish Town General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The motive for the killing remains unclear.

The Waterford Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the shooting.
