Three new championship events for Gibson McCook Relays

The prestigious Gibson-McCook Relays slated for Saturday, February 27, will see the 4x200 metres girls' open and the 4x200 metres for Classes One and Two boys' upgraded to championship events.

The three events have been added by the organisers due to their prominence at the IAAF World Relays in recent years. Overall, there will be 13 championship events at the meet.

Advanced Scales and Equipment snapped up the 4x100m high school boys' Class One Championship, while the 4x100m high school girls Under-19 Championship event will be sponsored by consumer brand Oral B.

Beverage brand Lucozade will sponsor the 4x100m high school boys' Class Two Championship race, while Wisynco will sponsor the 4x100 high school girls' Under-17 relay.

The 4x400m high school boys' open went to SOS Foods Limited, and the girls' equivalent went to CIBC First Caribbean International Bank, while Grace Foods will be the sponsors of the 4x400m institution men's Championship.

The 4x400 metres high-school girls' open will be run under the banner of CIBC First Caribbean, and the 4x400m high-school boys' open will be sponsored by SOS Foods.

Meanwhile, Jamaica Biscuit Company and consumer brand Head and Shoulders selected the boys' and girls' high-school 4x800m opens, respectively.
