Free Wi-Fi at Champs tomorrow

Patrons attending tomorrow's final day of the 2016 ISSA-GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Championships at the National Stadium are in for an exciting 'Champs' experience.

This as telecommunications company Flow prepares to give patrons the experience of a lifetime inclusive of free high-speed wireless internet connection (Wi-Fi) throughout the stadium - the company's first major activation of its kind.

According to Stephen Miller, Flow's sponsorship manager, this initiative, along with other on-the-ground activities planned by the company, is in keeping with the dynamic changes happening in the sporting arena.

"Sports has changed significantly over the last decade; not only do persons attend major championships for the game in progress, but also for the experience they get as a fan. This is what we try to do throughout all our sponsorships as it relates to sports, and Champs is no different," Miller revealed in a release from the company yesterday.

For the duration of Champs, patrons will be able to access a FLOW wireless connection at a speed of four megabytes (4MB) per patron with an anticipation of a 30,000-patron capacity.

interaction experience

Adding to the online experience for patrons at the games, FLOW has enlisted the services of Popular Vloggers, Elli Di Viner and the Youth View Award winner Prince Pine who will conduct a total on-the-ground fan interaction experience to delight patrons. This will be shared via FLOW's social media pages and on screen at the Stadium on Super Saturday.

In summing up the company's plans, Miller shared that FLOW will be taking a 360 degree approach to its execution at Champs tomorrow, engaging fans both online and in the stadium.

"We have never done a Wi-Fi execution of this magnitude before and so to ensure fans have a superb experience, we are pulling out all the stops from a network perspective as well as from an execution standpoint for this "Olympics of the Caribbean".

In the stadium, you will have access to our Wi-Fi so you can visit our social media pages and share content with your family and friends, while uploading your own 'Champs' memories. You will also be interacting with our Vloggers on our Facebook Page. Friends will also see you on the big screen and of course we will unleash thousands of specially branded promotional items so you will look the part as well!" he said in closing.
