GraceKennedy Education Run set for July 10
The eighth annual GraceKennedy Education Run/Walk and Wheelchair 5K will be staged on Sunday, July 10 at the Kingston Waterfront.
The 5K race will start at 6:15 a.m. Entry to the event for individuals is $1,200 with an all-inclusive package which will include breakfast for $1,800. Corporate teams have been urged to register at $20,000 per team and help contribute to the worthy cause.
Speaking at Monday’s press launch at Emancipation Park in New Kingston, Don Wehby, group CEO of GraceKennedy Limited, said the company was doing its part to “invest in education, for the good of our nation.
“We do this because we know how important education is as an agent of change,” Wehby said.
The event is aiming to double the 4,000 entrants from last year and also double the $7 million the event pulled in. Event sponsors include; the RJR Communications group, The Gleaner Company, Digicel, Sun Block, Hi-Lyte and Foods Domestic.
Participants can register and pay online using a Visa, debit or any credit card at runningeventsja.com, or submitting entry forms and cash payments at any branch of First Global Bank or GraceKennedy at 73 Harbour Street. Registration will close on Friday July 1.
