Kingston College (KC) coach, Ludlow Bernard slammed his charges for playing "pretty" but ineffective football, following defeat to Wolmer's Boys in last Saturday's ISSA-FLOW Manning Cup semi-finals at the National Stadium.

Bernard called it "a really tough pill to swallow" after KC played some exciting football, but just couldn't score against Wolmer's.

"I told them that pretty football doesn't win games, we need to convert our chances, we created quite a few but it was very unfortunate for us," he bemoaned in a post game interview.

The 'Purples' were also eliminated in the FLOW Super Cup semi-finals by Wolmer's.

KC were strong favourites in some quarters to win this year's Manning Cup title but their more than 30-year continues following the 3-0 thrashing by Wolmer's Boys.

Meanwhile, Bernard is hoping his team can end the season with a win in this year's ISSA-FLOW Walker Cup knock-out final where they will meet Jamaica College.

"We still have that (Walker Cup) to play for but it's really gonna be a task now to really get these boys up mentally again," he said.

KC are eight-time Walker Cup champions, while reigning Manning Cup champions Jamaica College have won the title twice.
