Rae Town, Maverley/Hughenden in big Super League clash
Rae Town and Maverley/Hughenden will clash in today's feature game in the Magnum/KSAFA Super League competition at the Barbican Complex starting at 3:00p.m.
Rae Town will enter today's contest oozing confidence after their 2-1 win over fellow Super League campaigners Pembroke Hall in the second round of the Jackie Bell Knockout competition last Saturday.
They are currently seventh in the standings on six points. However, head coach Orlando Walters said his team has been moving from strength to strength this season and so he is expecting a good performance from them today.
"We are feeling very confident because after losing our last match in the Super League, we bounced back to beat Pembroke Hall in the Jackie Bell Knockout and so that is a good sign for us," said Walters.
"We started the season slow, but the more games we play, the better we are getting and so we are looking to win this game and move up in the points standings," he said.
Walters added: "Maverley have good players and so we are expecting tough game from them, but our aim to get three points and so my players are ready and raring to go.
Rae Town will be depending on the likes of former Excelsior High Manning Cup star, Cadine Graham along with the likes of Kevin Kellyman, Javain Bryan and Chad Bennett to lead their charge to victory.
On the other hand, Maverley/Hughenden are currently sixth in the standings on eight points. They will be rest their hopes in the hands of Jamoy Sibbles, Shamar Dyer, Robert Williams, Rushane Peddie to lead them to victory.
Meanwhile, in the day's other games, leaders Barbican will play away to Santos at the Bell/Chung Oval, Rockfort will host Molynes United at the Rockfort, Real Mona challenge Brown's Town at Vauxhall, Maxfield Park will play away to Mountain View at Excelsior High School and Central Kingston will hosts Pembroke Hall at Winchester Park.
