Money-O! - MoBay United finally gets paid

Sandra Christie, chief operating officer and director of administration at Montego Bay United (MBU), said the club has finally received money owed to it by the Professional Football Association of Jamaica (PFAJ) after three seasons in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL).

The 2017-18 season of the RSPL got off to a late start because of money owed to MBU since 2016.

The PFAJ and the Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA) arranged to pay the funds in three tiers to be completed last December.

MBU have had several run-ins with the PFAJ and PLCA since then.

"We got the balance of payment last week Friday (May 11) from the JFF (Jamaica Football Federation)/PFAJ," Christie told Western STAR on Saturday.

MBU last won the RSPL in 2016 and since then have drifted down the table, getting knocked out at the quarter-final stage in 2017 and finishing ninth this past season.
