A man emailed 247 women called Nicole in an effort to find someone he met at a pub.
University of Calgary student Carlos Zetina failed to contact an exchange student he had met after she gave him her number, but he refused to give up hope.
Instead, he emailed every woman on the university's mailing list with the name Nicole, according to the BBC.
And although he couldn't initially track her down, the other women all clubbed together to support his search.
As it transpired, Nicole who hails from Holland had originally given the student the wrong number by mistake and was happy to reconnect with Carlos.
A groom stood his wife-to-be up at the altar because she spent too much time on her phone.
The couple was to be married in Uttar Pradesh in northern India, but the wedding party was left waiting for hours with no idea where the groom was.
The concerned father of the bride phoned the groom's family, only to discover that the ceremony had been cancelled due to his daughter's constant use of WhatsApp.
Superintendent Vipin Tada said that the groom's family claimed: "The bride had a habit of using WhatsApp excessively and was sending messages to her in-laws even before the wedding."
The family of the bride was furious and demanded that the groom's family give some compensation after they paid a massive dowry of 6.5 million rupees.
