Afternoon showers did little to dampen the excitement at the 2018 staging of the Bigga Westmoreland Curry Festival held at the Manning's School in Savanna-la-Mar on Sunday.

Hundreds from across western Jamaica turned out for the 18-year-old calendar event dubbed 'Curry Country'. Everything from crab and rabbit to pork, beef, fish and chicken was curried.

Viviene Richards, chairperson for the organising committee, was pleased with the execution of the production team and the turnout.

"Although we got some rain, the wholesome family festival was still a success and featured a mixture of good food, activities and entertainment for everyone," she said.

"We are very pleased, and next year will be even bigger and better," she added.

Bigga Westmoreland Curry Festival concluded with live entertainment from top acts such as Ding Dong, Agent Sasco, Short Boss, gospel act Kevin Downswell and the hilarious Granny.
