Rico Tayla to release debut EP
Jamaica-based producer/recording artiste Rico Tayla is set to release his debut EP, titled Jefe, next Friday.
The EP comprises 10 tracks, produced by a mix of new and well-established producers, such as Studio Vibes, Touch Point, JJ Wizzle, DJ Kendo out of Costa Rica, and RD Music out of Netherlands.
"The EP was created basically to give listeners a taste of how talented I am as an artiste," said Rico.
Included in Jefe are two collaborations, Champion, featuring JJ Wizzle, and Pretty Baby, featuring Lady Ali.
"We expect the EP will help us to get more recognised in the music industry worldwide. The artiste's style is a different vibe, so we expect different views. We also expect to show individuals that our production skills aren't just limited to one genre of music," said JJ Wizzle.
The first single, Tight, has garnered more than one million streams, mostly within Latin America. A music video is set to be shot within the coming weeks for both Tight and Champion.
Rico Tayla has been recording professionally since his days at Meadowbrook High and has produced for some of the biggest names in reggae and dancehall, including Vybz Kartel, Dexta Daps, Gyptian and Capleton.
