Ras Slick wants to capitalise on explosive summer
New York-based reggae singer Ras Slick is hoping to keep the momentum going from what he describes as a successful summer. The entertainer, who is currently on his 'Penultimate Tour', says this summer has been his best yet, as he has done some major shows that have helped him to improve his live performance skills as well as establish new markets.
According to the artiste, August was explosive for him and his band, Dutty Bus Crew, as they graced the stage of the first-ever DC World Reggae Music Festival. They shared a stage with the likes of Shabba Ranks, Toots and the Maytals, Chronixx, Raging Fyah, Rupee, Jah Works and KES.
Pointing out that he always aims to leave it all on the stage, the artiste described his performance as energetic and spiritual.
"I truly enjoy live performances. Each time I touch the stage, a spiritual energy and vibe overcomes, not just me, but the audience as well," he said, highlighting that transitioning to his own material has resonated more with listeners.
"I personally believe that one of the things working in my favour during my recent performances is my transition from cover music to predominately original songs. Often, my new tunes dem spark an unbreakable connection with audiences."
In addition to heating things up on the performance circuit, Ras Slick is finding success with new music releases. His songs Late Night, Krazy Glue, Concentrate and Cannabis Specialist have been enjoying some rotation on radio stations overseas.
