Istamiii’s home parish inspires new song
Up-and-coming reggae singer Istamiii is looking forward to the release of his new single which is titled Countryside.
Produced by Thee Khemist Records and Bass Root Music, the song is slated to be released on August 2.
"I am confident that my new single is going to do well because it carries a message that a lot of people can relate to," said the artiste. Istamiii said he was inspired by the natural beauty of his home parish, Manchester, to write the song.
"As someone who grew up in rural Jamaica, I have a great appreciation for the natural beauty of the countryside. Jamaica is blessed with an abundance of fauna and flora, rivers, waterfalls and beaches. With its natural beauty and tranquillity, the countryside is the perfect place to live," he said.
The hard-working artiste is currently busy in the studios working on his debut EP.
"I'm doing a lot of work in the studios with my producers Thee Khemist and Bass Root Music. We're working on my EP. So far, we've recorded some wonderful songs and we just have a few more to go before it's completed. As soon as it's ready, we'll announce the release date," he said.
Istamiii, whose given name is Damion Taylor, hails from Mandeville and is a past student of Spalding High School. He launched his recording career in 2014 with the release of a single titled Empress on the Thee Khemist Records imprint.
