Musical creative Gold Gad prides himself on being a source of guidance and support to aspiring dancehall diva Mehkadon.

"Mi a duh music bout 15 years now but mi tek it on professionally about five years now, suh mi have whole heap a experience. Suh mi affi teach har cause she young and she nuh deh a Jamaica often or inna di streets, suh mi affi guide har inna di streets and teach har di ropes," Gold Gad told THE STAR. He opined that although he met Mehkadon as a very talented act, he has seen a massive improvement.

"She wicked. Fi years mi a watch har ting and is like and mi neva see no new artiste fawud out weh mi wudda seh 'Yow, dem ready'. But mi a see har ting from she a freestyle and mi like, 'Yow, a weh dem get har from?' Suh when wi link up and duh di first collab mi a seh 'No man she mad...suh wi ago duh supm else again, enuh.' Den wi just gi dem likkle time, she put in di work until wi jus boom again with a Christmas song," he added.

The artiste first released an official collaboration with Mehkadon three years ago, a song titled, Too Toxic. They recently partnered on a raunchy Christmas-themed single titled Christmas Wish, which added to speculations about the artistes' 'state of affairs'.

The artistes were left stunned when questioned about their relationship, with Mehkadon stating with a shy giggle, "Well, I am Mrs Claus and he's Santa [Claus] so yea, I'm his wife", while referring to the single.

Mehkadon said that she was keen on the ins and outs of the industry, and remains grateful for the directions Gold Gad has provided.

"He's very helpful and when we work together, it's awesome, and I learn from him, but not in a mentor/mentee way," she said. She added that her professional career, which kick-started more than a year ago, had its fair share of high and low points, but she is comfortably riding the musical waves.

"It's been good and since then, I've done some performances, drop new music, got more [audiences] - it's just growing; so it's been good," she shared, adding that, she has "no regrets" in pursuing a career despite holding a law degree.

Gold Gad, whose fame climaxed during the pandemic where he became a viral content creator of sexually charged content, said that his fame, along with adding a lot more personal comedic flare to his music, formed a part of the "creative concepts" which contributed to his career as an artiste.

"Mi a nuh jus waah artiste, enuh, mi affi entertain people. Mi used to affi a link certain comedian and pay dem and then I'm like, 'Why mi a [duh dat] when mi a used to drama man inna class from day one?' Suh mi just start [dramatise] and do my skit dem fi my ting dem and just believe seh weh mi really need now, a just promotion, belief and just work," he said.

The artiste, who hopped on to Rvssian's revamped 'Dutty Money' rhythm - with part two of his popular track, Client Convo - said his lyrical flow, theatrical character and storytelling dialogue, often accompanied by his imitated American accent, definitely sets him apart.
