‘Live Life & Prosper’ D’Yani sends message to fans through new album

Reggae and dancehall recording artiste D’Yani is encouraging listeners to slow down, appreciate life and embrace the moments that matter with his long-awaited album, ‘LLAP — Live Life & Prosper’.

The artiste officially launched the project on Friday, at 105 Water Lane in Kingston, where he celebrated the release alongside industry faces and supporters who came out to share in the milestone.

For D’Yani, however, LLAP is a reflection of his journey, experiences and the lessons he has gathered along the way and not just a collection of songs.

“My aspiration for this project is just basically to make sure people appreciate life, appreciate the little things, be grateful for the small things, and be grateful for the big things, and just be grateful overall, and live life and prosper ultimately,” he told THE STAR.

One of the clearest examples of the album’s personal nature is Live A Little, originally released by D’Yani in 2023 as a single, and a song D’Yani said was born out of a moment when he realised he had been pushing himself too hard.

“I was at the river, stressed out, I worked too hard, I tried to be too productive, and the song just popped up, honestly, and that’s how the song was really created,” he recalled.

That sentiment runs throughout the album, with D’Yani describing the songs as different “aspects and capsules” of his life and experiences. Another standout, Prayed For, reflects a moment when one of his deepest aspirations became reality after he toured and performed for an audience of approximately 70,000 people. Then there is Jah Has Been Too Good, which reflects on how God saved him through many trials and tribulations in his life.

For the artiste, taking his time with the project was intentional.

“We take music seriously,” he explained, noting that the words carry weight and that the creative process is rooted in spirituality, mentality and ensuring the production meets his standards.

Rather than wanting listeners to walk away with a single favourite track, D’Yani hopes the entire project leaves them with a renewed appreciation for life.

“Hope, gratitude, love, and life, appreciation of life, that’s all, and nothing more,” he said.

And the Live Life & Prosper message will extend beyond the album. D’yani is set to take the project to audiences internationally, with upcoming stops in Canada, New York and Los Angeles, among other destinations.

Looking ahead, fans can also anticipate the LLAP 2027 Tour, which is expected to take the album across Europe, the Caribbean, the Americas, Jamaica and London.

For now, D’yani is focused on one simple message: Live Life and Prosper.
