450 heads for US tour

Fresh off the heels of his performance at the Caribbean Music Awards (CMAs) in Trinidad and Tobago, dancehall artiste 450 hopes to continue his momentum with an upcoming US tour, as he builds on a series of major international appearances.

The CMAs marked 450’s first time attending the awards ceremony, despite having won an award in 2024, and gave the Jamaican artiste another opportunity to showcase his music on a major regional stage.

“The CMAs was a great experience for me. Even though I won an award back in 2024, this was actually my first time attending. So, being able to perform on that stage made it even more special. It was a great feeling being there and sharing that moment with the team,” 450 said.

The young Jamaican artiste has already made his mark with several major performances in the US, Canada and Europe. Among his notable US appearances was a sold-out performance at the Toyota Center Arena in Houston, Texas, alongside Nigerian superstar Davido. For 450, the moment was monumental, representing not only an opportunity to perform on a major US stage, but also the growing cultural and musical connection between Jamaica and Nigeria.

He has also performed at BRT Weekend Music Festival in Atlantic City, New Jersey, which boasts approximately 20,000 patrons, further demonstrating his ability to connect with large audiences in the US market. Europe has also proven to be a promising market for 450. Earlier this year, he performed at the SunSplash Reggae Festival in Den Haag, Netherlands, where the reception from fans demonstrated his continued dominance and the growing reach of his music internationally.

“I was genuinely taken aback by the reception. The fans really showed out, and it was just a joy to hear them singing along and vibing with me. It definitely showed me that the music is reaching people in Europe in a real way, and mi appreciate that,” he said.

The Netherlands appearance followed his sold-out performance at the O2 Arena in London in 2023. While he was well received in London, seeing fans in the Netherlands sing his songs word for word was particularly memorable and further demonstrated the connection his music has established with European audiences.

“I think the energy is different, but the connection is still the same. In the Caribbean, people grow up around reggae and dancehall, so there’s already that understanding of the music and the culture. But it’s always a good feeling seeing how far the music can travel,” he said.

With major arena appearances, performances before large festival audiences and an upcoming US tour, 450 is focused on reaching even more fans while continuing to build on his international momentum.
