$50K fine each for men caught urinating in public

Two Spanish Town men were slapped with $50,000 fines each after pleading guilty to urinating in public in St Catherine.

Othniel Jobson and Oshane Simpson appeared before Parish Court Judge Genetta Smikle today, where they pleaded guilty to littering the public under Section 46 of the National Solid Waste Management Agency Act.

The court heard that on August 14, 2026, police caught the men urinating along sections of Burke Road.

Jobson and Simpson were each fined $50,000 or 30 days in prison.

They were also warned that littering in public is a serious matter and should be discouraged.
