Man wanted in US captured in St Mary

A Jamaican man wanted in Texas for murder, attempted capital murder and aggravated assault with a weapon was caught during an early-morning police raid in St Mary yesterday.

Twenty-five-year-old Patrick Dave Anderson of Alleppo, Clonmel, St Mary, was apprehended during a joint operation involving the St Mary Police and the Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team (JFAT).

According to police, the operation was carried out between 3:30 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. on September 25 at premises in the Alleppo community.

Two houses in the same yard were simultaneously breached and searched as the team hunted for Anderson.

But Anderson reportedly surrendered without incident.

“During the operation two houses located in the same yard were simultaneously breached and searched. Anderson subsequently surrendered to the police without incident,” said St Mary police commander Anthony Wallace.

Anderson was taken into custody and transported to Kingston by JFAT for further processing.

Wallace said the St Mary police will continue efforts to apprehend wanted persons and persons of interest while disrupting illegal activities across the parish.
