Jamal counts his ‘Blessin’
Dancehall artiste Jamal is hoping to add another hit to his growing catalogue with the release of ‘Blessin’, a new street-ready single produced by Ell Dunce Records.
The Montego Bay entertainer, who has built a reputation as one of dancehall’s most consistent hitmakers, has been enjoying a strong run and remains in high demand. His latest offering is already generating streams across major digital platforms, with producer Ryan Carter confident the track has all the ingredients of another fan favourite.
“Jamal knows the street and I think that is what gives him an edge over many others. He simply understands what the youths want to hear and he is very good with hooks. From him hear the beat him find the punchline and the rest is history. The song already a stream well and di video a forward soon suh yuh a ballgame,” Carter said.
Known for songs such as Ballandor, Time, 1 Chop, Faada and Tru Believa, Jamal has amassed a loyal following and is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in trap dancehall.
His partnership with Ell Dunce Records came through fellow trap dancehall artiste Rygin King. The Manchester-based label has also been expanding its catalogue, working with acts including Malie Don, Ai Milly, Teebone and Kant10t.
Carter said he is prepared to invest heavily in ensuring Blessin reaches audiences both locally and overseas.
“Di song bad and the video ago be a movie. Me nah ask if the song ago be another hit because, just off the initial feedback in the street and on social media, me can tell seh di fans dem love it. Suh me just a put in the groundwork to make the project a success,” Carter stated.
