Now home from his recent trip to Los Angeles, California, Devin Di Dakta has wasted no time in getting back to work.

"As mi reach, mi sleep di night. And as mi wake up, straight inna di studio," he told THE STAR. "Bruk people rest. Mi caan rest. Di rest dem fi dead. I'm always working."

Devin told THE STAR that Ayo Ayo, a single from the Grammy-nominated album, Sly and Robbie Presents: Reggae for Her, has been getting heavy rotation on Fyah 105. Still, he is working towards the release of his debut EP, I Am Escoffery.

Determined to display his versatility, Devin said that for this project, he worked with DizTroy, a production duo of musician and studio engineer Dale 'Dizzle' Virgo and UK-based producer Troy Baker of Geejam Studios.

"We're still working on it," said Virgo, whose production credits include Rihanna, Drake and The Jolly Boys.

Virgo also revealed that they are working on some of the EP's visuals.

"We kind of working on a video that we gonna drop soon and a single about May. We did about six tracks on the EP, and it's basically a mixture between EDM, dancehall and trap," Virgo continued.

"[Devin] really surprised me, because of how musically open-minded he is. He's a dope artiste, very versatile. He has the crossover appeal," Virgo said.

And, Devin believes the album has what it takes to reach the international market,

"I Am Escoffery is something really really different. The writing skills for this just tun up. It's something out of the box. This one will be extremely international. All the songs are done. Every single song is done, but we're still contemplating which one to make the lead single," Devin told THE STAR. "The song I performed on the Redemption Live concert, Beautiful, is on the project."
