Social media was this morning sent into a frenzy, leaving many persons calling for the intervention of the police, after an alleged rape video went viral.

The video which is almost four minutes long is a recording of a male and a seemingly hesitant female having sex. Though the faces were not clearly shown, the female could be heard crying and begging the man she referred to as, "Odane", to stop.

"Odane no... please, " she cried as the guy continued to tell her to fix her legs.

"Odane please, " she continued. At this point the guy threatened to hit her if she continued to make "noise".

This video has caught the attention of a number of persons who have since been posting that the man should face the full extent of the law.

"Somebody needs to put this b.... where he belongs in prison with animals," one social media user posted.

But a post from the accused man's Facebook page which has since been deactivated, is denying the rape allegations.

The Centre for Investigations of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) has launched an investigation into the matter.
