Gunman bolts after seeing cops and drops revolver in Allman Town

A man reportedly made a desperate dash from police in Allman Town, Kingston, on Friday, leaving behind a .38 revolver and three rounds of ammunition, according to the police.

The dramatic seizure happened about 4:45 p.m. on Arnold Avenue, where members of the Kingston Central Policing Division were conducting an operation based on information received.

Police said a team went into a section of the community and spotted a man.

However, on seeing the lawmen, the man allegedly bolted from the area, dropping an object as he fled.

The officers searched the area and reportedly discovered the object, which turned out to be a .38 revolver.

A magazine containing three .38 cartridges was also found.

The man managed to evade the police, but the firearm was seized and taken into custody.

Investigators have launched a probe and are continuing efforts to establish the identity of the man and determine how the weapon came into his possession.
