No arrest in cop's shooting
Up to late last night, police had not made any arrest in connection with the shooting of a policeman and two civilians in a drive-by in Hayes, Clarendon, last Saturday night.
The policeman, a constable who works at the May Pen Police Station, and the civilians were seriously injured in the incident and are still hospitalised, police said.
When contacted last night, police said they have not made any breakthrough in the shooting, but are following leads and are hoping to make an arrest soon.
It is reported that the constable, whose name is being withheld, was a patron at a bar in the Vere area of Clarendon when a motor car drove up and its occupants opened fire on patrons.
When the shooting subsided, police said the constable and two of the patrons were found suffering from gunshot wounds. All three were brought to hospital where they were admitted in serious condition.
