Driver faces prelim enquiry for student's death
Jermaine Morrison, the driver who is charged with the 2012 death of a schoolboy, is to return to the Spanish Town RM Court for a preliminary enquiry on Monday.
The date was set when Morrison appeared in the court on Tuesday, charged with the death of Lennox Lloyd, 15, a former student of Ascot High School in St Catherine.
Allegations are that about 7 a.m. on May 29, 2012, Morrison was driving a Toyota Hiace bus along Passagefort Drive, when he was signalled to stop by Transport Authority inspectors and police.
He allegedly disobeyed and sped away, but reportedly lost control of the vehicle which overturned, resulting in the injury of several students, including Lloyd who later died.
Following an investigation, Morrison was charged with causing death by dangerous driving. He has made numerous court appearances.
