Mother, children mowed down in front of hospital
Up to press time last night, doctors at the Bustamante Hospital for Children were still attending to a mother and her two children after they were mowed down while walking on the pedestrian crossing at the front of the medical facility.
Information reaching THE STAR is that the incident occurred at about 8 p.m. in full view of others.
Security personnel and other bystanders, who were on hand, rushed with the injured persons to get treatment.
Our news team understands that the driver sped away following the incident.
An eyewitness told our news team that one of the children appeared to be badly injured.
"The mother was crying, and she was bleeding. She had one in her hand and the other was walking beside her. The one that was walking had more serious injuries. The impact was so loud, we thought it was two cars that collided," the eyewitness told THE STAR.
Our news team gathered that the mother was leaving the hospital when disaster struck.
The St Andrew Central police are investigating.
