Cops catch another illegal gas operator
Police in St James nabbed another illegal gas operator in the parish yesterday and seized 2,000 litres of petrol.
THE STAR understands that about 4:30 p.m., an operation was carried out at Guinep Crescent, Freeport, in the parish, where 27 containers with the petrol and a Hiace minivan were seized.
The suspect was subsequently arrested.
On January 19 lawmen carried out an operation at the same location where 20,000 litres of petrol was seized and two men were subsequently charged.
Reports are that the two persons were arrested days after the state of public emergency was enacted in the parish.
They have been identified as 49-year-old Station Clarke and Norman Daley 59, both of St James addresses.
Both are set to appear in the St James Parish Court on today.
