Drive for ice cream claims boy's life
A drive to buy ice cream last Sunday took a turn for the worst after the motor vehicle a man and his son were driving in overturned and claimed the life of the child.
Information reaching THE STAR is that the nine-year-old boy died following the crash along Stennett Street in St Mary.
He has since been identified as Cowayne Barton of a Cox Street, Port Maria, address.
Our news team gathered that Cowayne was a student at the Port Maria Primary School.
His father is hospitalised in critical condition.
Cowayne and his father reportedly drove to buy ice cream at about 7 p.m.
THE STAR understands that while they were returning, his father reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which overturned.
They were rushed to the Port Maria Hospital where Cowayne was pronounced dead.
The St Mary police are investigating.
