Man accused of killing Dexter Pottinger denied bail

Romario Brown, the Kingston-based tattoo artist who was charged with the murder of fashion designer Dexter Pottinger, was once again denied bail when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court yesterday.

It is said that when the case was mentioned, the prosecutor explained that the DNA and forensic reports were still outstanding.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that Parish Judge Maxine Ellis presided over the case which has now been transferred to the Committal Court. Ellis reportedly expressed concerns over the length of time it was taking to complete the file.

A June 15 mention date has been set.

Brown, 21, of Stony Hill in St Andrew, reportedly confessed to stabbing Pottinger to death in August 2017. Pottinger's decomposing body was discovered with multiple stab wounds at his Yarico Place home in Kingston. At the time he confessed to killing Pottinger, Brown was out on bail for the killing of a woman in St Andrew in 2016.
