Man held in gun and ammunition seizure

One man is in custody following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Walderston, Manchester, yesterday.

Reports from the Kendal police are that at about 2:10 a.m., police were summoned to an area of the community where men were seen breaking into a hardware store.

On their arrival, the men began shooting at the lawmen.

The gunfire was returned and the men escaped in nearby bushes. The police searched the area and one Browning 9 mm pistol and four 9 mm rounds of ammunition were found.

One of the men was subsequently arrested.

His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
