Man chops nephew over silver
A St James man who reportedly chopped his nephew after accusing him of stealing J$36,000 worth of silver is to return to the St James Parish Court on October 18 for sentencing.
Mario Forbes, of a Maldon address, is charged with unlawful wounding. His bail was extended after he appeared before presiding judge Natalie Creary-Dixon last Wednesday.
Allegations are that on June 9, both men were at home when Forbes accused the complainant of stealing the silver.
An argument ensued, and Forbes used a chopper to chop his nephew on his head and wrist.
Forbes claimed that it was not the first time his nephew had stolen from him.
Creary-Dixon then instructed that a social enquiry report should be prepared to assist in determining Forbes' sentence on his next court date.
