Worker killed in crane accident on his birthday

A maintenance worker was crushed to death in a freak crane accident at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay this morning, in a heartbreaking twist on what should have been his birthday celebration.

The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Everton Campbell of Grants Pen, Kingston.

Campbell was reportedly working on the airport ramp when parts of a crane he was operating fell on him.

He reportedly died on the spot.

In a particularly tragic twist, Campbell was celebrating his 58th birthday today.

Details surrounding the accident remain limited, including the type of maintenance work being carried out and what caused sections of the crane to fall.

The incident is expected to trigger investigations by the relevant authorities as they seek to determine exactly what led to Campbell's death.
