Woman arrested for allegedly fatally stabbing her baby father in groin

A St Catherine woman is in police custody after the father of her child was allegedly stabbed in the back and groin during a late-night confrontation at her home in Gutters on Wednesday.

Dead is 64-year-old Fitzroy Williams, a labourer of Island Farms District, Gutters, St Catherine.

Reports are that about 11:20 p.m. on September 30, Williams went to the home occupied by the suspect, with whom he shared a child.

A disagreement reportedly developed between the two, during which Williams allegedly pushed the woman to the ground.

Police reports are that the woman then retaliated with a knife, allegedly stabbing Williams several times, including to his back and groin.

Williams reportedly collapsed from his injuries and was assisted to Spanish Town General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The woman was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

Detectives attached to the Old Harbour Criminal Investigation Branch are probing the circumstances surrounding Williams' death.
