After three seasons flirting with the Western Confederation Super League semi-finals, Sandals Whitehouse of Westmoreland and their coach, Aaron Lawrence, are convinced this season they will achieve their ambitions of winning the Super League and reaching the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL).

Lawrence told STAR Sports that all is in place for them to succeed, as they have the full support of the hotel and surrounding communities and see their three-year plan coming to fruition with the addition of former Jamaica College frontman, Ackeem Shackleford and midfielders Leonard Rankine and Andre Vassell in January.

Their arrival has lifted the team and they are considered favourites when they face-off against Granville of St James today at Jarrett Park.

"This is our third year in the Super League and our second semi-finals, the first year we missed it by a point, but it has been a learning process. We have a starting 11 that has been gelling and that is one of the key things, so we are looking forward to the championship and go to the premiership," Lawrence said.

He described the arrival of leading scorer Shackleford as a 'blessing' and expects his stars to continue their good form.

The former Reno and national 'shot stopper' anticipates a tough challenge from Granville, who will be in their back yard, but said they are ready for the occasion.

"As long as we execute what we have planned Granville cannot stop us. The vibe around the communities is great and everyone will be coming out," he said.
