West Indies name squad for first four matches of Tri-nation series
The West Indies' selection panel has named a 14-man squad for the first four matches of the upcoming Tri Nation one-day international (ODI) series.
The squad includes two players who are yet to play in ODIs for the West Indies - off-spinner Ashley Nurse, who was a member of the West Indies team which won the International Cricket Council World T20 last month, and fast bowler Shannon Gabriel, who has played 16 Test matches.
The Tri Series will feature West Indies, South Africa, and Australia. All matches will be day-night.
The series starts at the Guyana National Stadium (June 3-7), then moves to Warner Park, St. Kitts (June 11-15); and concludes at Kensington Oval, Barbados (June 19-26).
The squad will be captained by Jason Holder and includes Sulieman Benn, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Jonathan Carter, Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher, Shannon Gabriel, Sunil Narine, Ashley Nurse, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Marlon Samuels, and Jerome Taylor.
The team's manager will be Rawl Lewis with head coach Phillip Simmons, assistant coaches Stuart Williams, Roddy Estwick, and Andre Coley.
