Quest, Hydel to meet in Scotiabank cricket final

Defending champions Quest Prep will battle former winners Hydel Prep in the final of the Scotiabank Prep Schools cricket competition next Friday at Lucas Cricket Club in Kingston.

Yesterday Quest defeated Lannaman's while Hydel got the better of Richmond at Lucas. Both teams are still undefeated having played in different zones and will meet for the first time in the final.

Quest were handed a big early advantage in their semi-final against Lannaman's. The latter were docked seven overs after they go to the venue late.

Lannaman's made 89 for eight in their 18 overs after being invited to bat by Quest. Nicolyd Notice made 20 and Rojaz Tyrell 10 .

Malik Bogle, Ashoy Jackson and Nicholas HoLung two wickets each.

Quest made light work of the total racing to 90 for four in 13.4 overs to win by six wickets. Blaine Byam top scored with 36.

In the second semi-final, Hydel were sent in and made 126 for six in their 25 overs with Najir Byfield leading the way with 75.

Cole Thompson, Ramone Ramsay and Rojie McBean took two wickets each.

Richmond were demolished for 73 in 18.3 overs with Justin Grandison scoring 21.

Kevandre Virgo took four for 14 and Byfield two for 15 as Hydel won by 53 runs.
