JGA postpones Quarterly Scramble
The Jamaica Golf Association (JGA) has postponed its Quarterly Scramble, which was scheduled for the Runaway Bay Golf Course on Saturday.
JGA president Peter Chin told STAR Sports that the Constant Spring Golf Club has the largest membership of all the local golf clubs, and they will be hosting the Kingston Lodge Charity Golf tournament this weekend.
He said the charity event might deprive their event of a lot of participants. As a result, they are searching for a new date that will be convenient for all.
"It's really just a matter of timing. All we are doing is putting it off till a time that is convenient everybody," he said.
Chin said they are now searching the calendar for a day that would be suitable for all.
"This (postponement) is not unusual. A lot of times you have events for one reason or the other that you have to put off. No new date has been set because we are trying to see which day is the best. We have a full calendar. Almost every weekend and we have events going on, so we have to look and see which is the best date and hope that all are satisfied with it," he said.
