Arnett Rockers in last eight

Arnett Gardens Rockers secured their place in the quarter-finals of the National Integrity Action Southern Conference basketball league on Sunday after a narrow 64-62 win over Central Village in Game Two of their three-match series. They clinched the tie 2-0.

The Rockers joined Pembroke Hall, Spanish Town Spartans, JDF, G.C. Foster Lions and Real Lions in the last eight. The other quarter-final between last season's beaten finalists Upper Room Church and Portmore Flames awaits a ruling from the disciplinary committee.

Result is on hold

The official result is on hold pending a hearing on protests filed by Upper Room Church and Portmore.

Fernando Young led the way for the back-to-back champions Arnett with 26 points and nine rebounds and he received good support from Arnelll Campbell with 12 points. Shane Brown posted 14 points for Central Village.

On Friday, Spartans and JDF also booked their place after victories over Camperdown and Delacree Park, respectively. Spartans defeated Camperdown 63-59 with a game high 18 points from Michael Johnson.

Raymi Franklyn starred the show for JDF in their 76-72 win over Delacree Park. Franklyn grabbed 18 points and 10 rebounds for his side. Despite Howard Daley's 22 points and Vinton Brown 21 points.

The quarter-finals are scheduled to begin on Thursday.
