ST JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):

Uncapped fast bowler Miguel Cummins has another shot at making his Test debut after he was called up as replacement for Jerome Taylor in the 13-member squad for the upcoming first Test match against India.

A statement from the WICB yesterday announced that the selection panel named Cummins to take the place of Taylor who called time on his Test playing career.

A 12-member squad, captained by Jason Holder was released on Monday.

Last December, the Barbadian pacer was called up as a replacement for the injured Shannon Gabriel for the remaining Test matches against Australia but did not play.

However, earlier this year, he played for a WICB Board XI versus the Australian tourists in Antigua, claiming the wicket of Chris Rogers on the way to figures of 14-3-42-1.

He made his international debut in 2014 when he played in a one-day international against Ireland, returning figures of 1-42.

Cummins, 25, has played 41 first-class matches, with 116 wickets (average 22.56).

The first Test is scheduled for the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua, and starts on Thursday, July 21.
