Mixed fortune for darts team

Jamaica had a day of mixed fortune as the Caribbean Darts Tournament continued on Thursday in Barbados. The Jamaicans started the day with a 7-5 victory over long time rivals Trinidad and Tobago but in the next match, they were beaten by the same margin by tournament favourites.

In the knockout competition ladies singles competitors Kernel Brown, Catherine Stewart and Jennifer Reid have advanced to the next round. Ladies doubles - Jennifer Reid/Catherine Stewart and men's singles representatives Mark Birthwright, David Green and Lynford Jonas along with mixed doubles competitors Mark Birthwright/Mernel Brown are also in the next round.

The competition goes into its third day today after yesterday's rest day with Jamaica seeking victories over Cayman, Bahamas and Belize.

Standings after Day 2: Bahamas 41, Florida 40, Guyana 38, Cayman 35, Barbados 33, Jamaica 29, Belize 29 and Trinidad and Tobago 28.
