Taylor leads Jamaica to Regional women’s T20 first round win

Led by a good all-round performance from player of the match and West Indies women's Cricketer of the Year Stafanie Taylor, Jamaica's women defeated the Windward Islands by 56 runs in their T20 regional women's match at Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday.

Taylor first posted a 48-ball 62 as the Jamaicans, sent in, made 148 for three in their 20 overs.

Chadean Nation, 29 not out, and Natasha McLean, 21 not out, were the next highest scorers.

Taylor then returned to take one for 18 as the Windwards were restricted to 92 for five in their spell at bat. Only Juliana Nero 27 got past 20 runs.

The Jamaicans now lead Zone B with maximum three points.

In other matches, Guyana, 138 for two, defeated Leewards women, 83 for nine, by 55 runs, and Barbados women scored a 32-run win over Trinidad and Tobago.

Scores: Barbados 106 for eight; Trinidad and Tobago 74 all out.
