Marvadean Anderson returns to play for Sunshine Girls
The world's former tallest teenager and Jamaica's former Under-16 netball player Marvadean Anderson has rejoined the national netball team in time for the upcoming series against the England's Under-21 players.
Anderson returned to the island on Tuesday night after playing basketball in the United States for several years, where she also attended school.
Netball Jamaica president Dr Paula Daley-Morris said she was happy for Anderson's return.
"She is expected to join forces with Romelda Aiken and Jhaniele Fowler-Reid in the shooting circle and to fortify Jamaica's strength in this area. We welcome her home and look forward to her playing netball again. It will take some adjustment from basketball, but I do not see any major issues there."
Anderson last played for Jamaica in 2009 in the region's Jean Pierre Youth tournament here in Jamaica, during which the hosts won handsomely.
Anderson was happy to be home and is looking forward to playing for the Sunshine Girls. She said the she was looking to get back in the groove of netball.
She also said some of her teammates in 2009 are still playing, so it would be good to be playing with them again and to represent Jamaica.
