FRISCO, Texas (AP):

Dallas scored two goals in three minutes in the second half to beat Vancouver 2-0 in steamy conditions on Sunday, extending the club-record unbeaten streak to 17 games and boosting the Texan team's lead atop the Major League Soccer standings.

Dallas moved six points clear of nearest rivals Colorado, who lost heavily to New York City on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Real Salt Lake pulled off the only away victory of the weekend with a 2-1 win at Philadelphia, while Sporting Kansas City scored the sole goal to beat Portland.

Dallas spurned chances in the first half and had to wait until the 56th minute to take the lead as Kellyn Acosta buried his shot in the bottom-right corner off a feed from Michael Barrios.

Three minutes later, Argentine striker Maximiliano Urruti slipped behind the defence and beat goalkeeper David Ousted from the corner of the six-yard box.

Dallas' Chris Seitz had his seventh clean sheet of the season, tied for the league lead.

Real Salt Lake also scored two goals early in the second half to win 2-1 at Philadelphia.

The hosts went ahead just before halftime when C.J. Sapong won a penalty and Roland Alberg converted.
